Five Blades, One Swordsman: The Full Arc of Zoro's Arsenal

Zoro fights with three swords at once, but he's carried five different blades to keep that number at three. Wado Ichimonji is the one constant — the sword he asked for by name after losing the friend who owned it first, and the only one he's never traded or lost. Sandai Kitetsu came the same way most of his gear does: he won it, betting his own arm that its curse wasn't real and walking away without a scratch.

Yubashiri was one of his earliest blades, carried for years until an enemy's rust-based devil fruit power corroded it beyond saving during the Enies Lobby arc. Shusui picked up the slack afterward — inherited from a legendary Wano swordsman's undead form at Thriller Bark, carried all the way to Wano itself, then traded away so it could stay home as a national treasure. Enma replaced it in his hand and hasn't left since: heavier than a blade its size has any right to be, and the one now completing his three-sword rotation alongside Wado Ichimonji and Sandai Kitetsu.

The other four in this lineup never passed through Zoro's hands. Nidai Kitetsu is the middle child of the cursed Kitetsu line — same family as Sandai Kitetsu, one generation older, and the legend says all three were forged by smiths tied to the Kozuki family. Ame no Habakiri is a matched pair with Enma: originally wielded together by Kozuki Oden himself, the two are the only weapon combination the story has ever confirmed capable of wounding Kaido, and the blade later passed to Oden's son Momonosuke.

Kikoku is the odd one out in every sense: an oversized nodachi carried over Trafalgar Law's shoulder rather than at his hip, rumored cursed like the Kitetsu line, and — unlike every other named blade on this page — never given an official rank at all.

Where These Rank in One Piece's Official Sword-Grading System

The grade column in the table above comes from a formal ranking One Piece runs in its own canon, from Supreme Grade down through ungraded common blades — and it's the one thing here that has nothing to do with price or size. Five of the nine — Wado Ichimonji, Nidai Kitetsu, Shusui, Enma and Ame no Habakiri — are Great Grade blades, the second tier from the top. Yubashiri sits one tier below at Skillful Grade. Sandai Kitetsu and Shigure are graded blades by reputation, but neither the source material nor our own research turned up a precise tier name for either, so we're not guessing at one. Kikoku stands apart from all eight: despite a reputation for being cursed, it has never been given an official rank in the story at all — proof that grade and reputation aren't the same thing.
