Slicing the Wind: The 26cm Windcleaver Metal Replica (49g)

03 Jun 2026 0 comentarios

Welcome back to the BlacksmithSONG forge. In our last entry, we were analyzing the dense, aquatic hydrodynamics of the 97g Zora Sword .

Today, we leave the peaceful waters and venture into the treacherous canyons of the Gerudo Highlands. We are examining the signature weapon of the notorious Yiga Clan blademasters: The Windcleaver .

Before we break down the extreme weight-reduction engineering of this Japanese-style nodachi, watch the silver split-blade catch the light in our desert hideout diorama below:

The Aerodynamic Paradox: 26cm Long, Only 49g!

When you forge a weapon that is 26 centimeters long, you expect it to be a heavy wrist-breaker. For context, our Master Sword is 28cm long and weighs a massive 183g.

Yet, the Windcleaver tips the scales at a shockingly light 49 grams. Let's look at the forge data:

Long Sword Relics Physical Length Gram Weight Blade Engineering
Windcleaver 26.0 cm 49 g ! Slender Katana with Split-Spine Cutout
Master Sword 28.0 cm 183 g Solid, Thick Broadsword
Zora Sword 21.0 cm 97 g Solid, Streamlined Ingot

Look at the handheld scale shot above. The sword stretches entirely across the forearm. The secret to its 49g agility is the extreme negative space. The blade is essentially split down the middle, creating a long hollow channel designed to literally "cleave the wind" and send vacuums of pressurized air at enemies. Casting this massive hollow gap in zinc alloy without the fragile katana tip snapping requires masterful mold-cooling techniques.

The Blacksmith’s Q&A: Honesty in Materials

Our buyers appreciate total transparency from the forge. Here is what you need to know about the materials used in this $19.99 set:

  • Is the blade real metal?

    • Yes. The blade, the crossguard, and the crimson wrapped hilt are 100% solid, cold zinc alloy.

  • Is the black scabbard also metal?

    • No, the scabbard is high-density molded plastic. Why? Two reasons. First, a metal scabbard of this length would completely throw off the balance of the display. Second, and most importantly, sliding a metal katana in and out of a metal scabbard would instantly scratch and destroy the beautiful silver electroplating on the blade. The plastic scabbard protects your artifact.

Real Dioramas (And Mighty Bananas)

We don't use AI to fake our passion for the game. We build it.

The complete metal Windcleaver prop and scabbard resting on a dark rock within a highly detailed Yiga Clan Hideout diorama featuring Mighty Bananas and a Yiga mask.

Examine our studio Yiga Clan hideout. We laid down red desert sand and built a wooden watchtower complete with the upside-down Sheikah eye. We placed the Yiga Mask on a wooden crate. And yes, if you look closely, we even sourced miniature Mighty Bananas for the background. We know exactly what the blademasters fight for.

Display this 26cm katana horizontally on your desk, and let the assassins know you mean business.
