The Sentient Blade: Engineering the 22cm, 88g Ingrid Sword Metal Replica
Welcome back to the forge. If you've been exploring our armory, you know the BlacksmithSONG crew loves extreme density. We recently raved about the brutal 118g paperweight factor of Mjolnir.
But not every weapon in the Nine Realms is meant for brute-force smashing. Some weapons are meant for Vanir magic, swift strikes, and elven elegance.

Today, we lower the forge temperature to inspect Freyr's legendary sentient weapon: The Ingrid Sword.
Before we pull the blade, take a look at the studio-cam footage. Notice how the bright silver pops against the gothic stone archways and purple amethyst geodes of our white-sand diorama.
The Forge Data: The Agile Paradigm
We placed Ingrid in the “Relics & Support Arsenal” tier in our Ultimate Armory Tier List for a reason. Its geometry is designed for speed.
| Weapon Classification | Total Length | Combined Weight | Metal Core | Unique Engineering Feature | Price |
| Ingrid (Sword + Scabbard) | 22 cm | 88 g | Solid Zinc Alloy | Textured scabbard / Sheathing friction | $19.99 |
| Blade of Olympus (Context) | 22 cm | 84 g | Zinc Alloy | Hollowed hilt for god-killer aesthetic | $19.99 |
It shares the same 22cm profile as the Greek-era Blade of Olympus, but the engineering challenge is entirely different. When you craft a broadsword, the mass handles itself. When you forge an extremely slender magic sword like Ingrid, ensuring the metal blade stays perfectly straight and resilient upon drawing it requires hyper-accurate zinc die-casting.
Check out the hand-held scaling shot above.
The total combined weight of 88g gives it an excellent premium heft, but its incredibly sleek design makes it handle like a nimble stiletto. While we couldn't enchant the alloy to fly around the room and fight enemies by itself (our wizards are still working on that), the sheer quality feels magical in the palm.
If this bright Vanir elegance is too 'clean' for your setup, you should compare it directly against its 85g corrupted dark-twin: [Read our deep-dive into the Thrungva Einherjar sword here!]
The Mastery of the "Crackle" Scabbard
Many $19.99 replicas on the market completely ignore the scabbard or make it out of hollow plastic. For Ingrid, the scabbard is half the masterpiece.
Look extremely closely at the metal scabbard details in our ruins setup.
Getting that scabbard texture right took weeks of mold iteration. Notice how the sheath looks like dry, magical golden roots or ancient cracked leather?
That isn't cheap printed paint. That is a crackle-bronze physical texturing cast directly into the metal, flooded with a dark wash to bring out the deeply etched organic geometry.
When you slowly draw the silver blade from this heavy textured sheath, you get that immensely satisfying “schinggg”—metal resonating perfectly against metal. That friction and acoustic feedback make it an ultimate adult desk fidget piece for long work-from-home days.
The Two-Tone Vanir Blade
Even when drawn, the artistry doesn't stop. Let your eye follow the length of the 22cm blade. The edges are a cold, biting silver, but running dead down the center fuller is an oxidized golden stripe, leading up to beautifully etched "V-shaped" Nordic chevron designs right above the crossguard. The hilt is crowned with that signature ring-pommel, making it exceptionally satisfying to spin.
For your display setup, Ingrid offers brilliant contrast. If your collection is currently full of dark, volcanic ash weapons, this bright, slender blade (whether mounted vertically on its easel or laid resting slightly out of its magical sheath next to a gaming monitor) adds an indispensable touch of Alfheim elegance.
