Eleonora's Poleblade is the Dexterity/Arcane twinblade dropped by Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger, when she invades the Second Church of Marika on Elden Ring's Altus Plateau — a twin-bladed naginata out of the Land of Reeds that builds blood loss on contact. We rebuilt that church at desk scale to photograph our 47.5 cm replica, and left a woven straw hat in the corner beside a katana nobody is coming back for. If you know whose they are, you already know why this weapon hurts.

Why Is There a Straw Hat in the Corner of This Church?

The set is the Second Church of Marika — a crumbling chapel on the Altus Plateau that the game frames as a place of contemplation and a rest stop for weary travellers, which makes it an unusually cruel place to die. We built the broken walls, the toppled columns, the moss, and the goddess statue standing over the whole mess with her arms open. Then we added two things: a woven kasa propped against the stone, and a long katana lying beside it.

That's Yura. Bloody Finger Hunter Yura — the ronin in the iron hat who shows up to save your life outside Murkwater Cave, who warns you away from Agheel Lake before you're ready for it, and who spends the entire first half of the game chasing one person. You find him inside this church, on the floor, already finished. He tells you he was no match for her, hands over his Nagakiba, and dies. Eleonora invades before the grief has time to land.

The bloodroses scattered through the set are ours, not the game's. We planted them because this is the exact spot where the Bloody Fingers stop being an inconvenience and start being a tragedy. Every photo on this page is a real shot of the real replica inside that handmade set — no CGI, no renders, one small chapel that lives in a drawer.

Who Was Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger?

Eleonora came out of the Land of Reeds, the same far-off place that supplies half the katanas in the Lands Between. Before the cessblood took her she was a Drake Knight and a partaker of Dragon Communion — which is why she opens her invasion by throwing dragon incantations at you, behaviour no other Bloody Finger bothers with. The weapon's own history describes a swordswoman whose attacks were compared to a whirlwind, and a legacy since fouled by cursed blood. She had cut down a long list of veterans before Yura ever caught up to her.

And Yura knew her. That single fact re-reads his entire questline. He wasn't hunting Bloody Fingers as a public service; he was hunting her, hoping to pull her back out of it before it finished. He loses. She wins the duel. You walk in on the aftermath, kill her, and leave with two things: her poleblade, and the Purifying Crystal Tear — the one physick tear that blunts Mohg's curse. The woman who fell to the Lord of Blood's call drops the exact tool you'll use to kill him.

Then Shabriri climbs into Yura's body and starts talking to you about the Frenzied Flame. FromSoftware does not do happy endings for its kindest NPCs.

What Does the Poleblade Actually Do in Elden Ring?

It's a Twinblade — edged at both ends of the shaft — and one of the few that isn't simply a doubled-up sword. It scales primarily off Dexterity and Arcane with Strength picking up the slack, deals split physical and fire damage, and builds hemorrhage on hit, which is why it still turns up in bleed builds years after launch.

Its skill is Bloodblade Dance: a leap into a whirling flurry, with a follow-up input that adds a second burst and pulls you back out of range. It also carries a heavy attack no other twinblade shares — a diagonal spin that lands several hits in sequence. You can't infuse it or swap its Ash of War, and it upgrades on Somber Smithing Stones. How Does 47.5 cm of Metal Actually Sit on a Desk?

This is the longest piece our two-person studio has ever cast: 47.5 cm (18.7"), which is longer than a full-size keyboard and the only thing in our catalogue that breaks the 30 cm ceiling. It is also — and this genuinely surprised us on the scale — one of the lightest things we make per centimetre. 98 g (3.5 oz) across all that length works out to about 2 g per centimetre; our 30 cm Magma Blade is 282 g, roughly nine. A polearm is mostly shaft, and a shaft is a thin rod. The mass here sits in the two hilts and the two blades, and nowhere else.

What that does in the hand is strange in a good way. It doesn't behave like a sword. You pick it up in the middle, it balances, and the cold registers before the weight does — zinc alloy pulls heat off your fingers the moment you touch it. Both ends carry the same hilt casting, ribbed grip and ridged collar, which is the entire point of a twinblade and the first thing worth checking on any replica of one. The crimson running the length of both blades is hand-finished paint over cast metal; in the chapel's low light it reads as staining rather than colour, which is exactly what we were after.

Both blades are cast blunt from the mould, it's recommended for ages 14+, and it will not perform a Bloodblade Dance regardless of how you hold it. The crimson isn't blood and doesn't glow — it's paint, well lit. And it's fan-made: an independently designed piece from a two-person workshop, not licensed by, affiliated with, or endorsed by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco.
