For the warriors who finally shattered King Hrólfr Kraki and claimed his legendary blade, this teardown is for you. Today, we step into the ghostly green mist to analyze the haunted blade holding twelve corrupted souls: The Skofnung Sword.

The Forge Data: The Ghostly Lightness Paradox
Throughout our Forge Arsenal Guides, we love talking about pure gravitational mass—like the crushing 118g density of Thor’s Hammer.
But what happens when you craft the blade of a hyper-agile ghost king?

To emulate its cursed speed from the game, we essentially engineered this zinc alloy casting as a fencer's foil or an elongated dagger. The ultra-narrow, tapered blade has all unnecessary mass machined out of its flanks, resting its entirely manageable 41 grams delicately across your knuckles.
It feels swift, vicious, and lethal. It doesn't break desks; it pierces armors.
Forging the "Soul Stone" and Skeletal Grip
Stripping away raw mass means there’s nowhere for poor detailing to hide. Look closely at the hilt construction resting against our glowing runestones:

The Berserker's Eye: The undeniable focal point is the brilliant green jewel embedded perfectly into the silver crossguard. During the enamel application stage, getting this vivid drop of toxic "emerald" to stay within its microscopic housing is agonizingly precise, but it is necessary to represent the corrupted souls contained inside.

The Ribbed Bone Handle: Flowing up from the green jewel, notice the cylindrical rings intersecting the handle grip? They are forged to resemble spinal columns or tightly bound ritual leather—all finished with our heavy, antiquing wash to bring out the darkened grooves underneath the polished bright-silver exterior.
How to Mount the Souls
Because the blade is so terrifyingly slim and devoid of bulky width, laying it perfectly flat against a wooden desk can cause its slim profile to disappear among messy papers or keyboards.
As mentioned in our Blacksmith Display Tactics Log, light weaponry must be elevated. Utilizing the custom included horizontal rack stand makes it appear as if the blade is levitating, allowing ambient gaming-room LED lights to slice across the flat silver fuller and illuminate that green eye.
