The 118g Brick of Thunder: Engineering the 13cm Mjolnir Metal Replica
Welcome back to the forge. If you look at our BlacksmithSONG metal armory, you'll notice we talk a lot about sharp edges and perfect balance. We've admired the slender agility of the 22cm Blade of Olympus and the elven grace of the Ingrid sword.
But what if you don't care about grace? What if you just want to drop a piece of heavy, brutal thunder onto your gaming desk?
Welcome to the God of War Mjolnir breakdown.
Take a look at the footage from our forge camera below. We laid this weapon on a cracked stone slab next to a dwarven mead tankard—exactly where it belongs.
The Forge Data: Pure Dimensional Density
In our Forge Awards List (Where we rank all extremes), Mjolnir was an extremely close runner-up for the "Heaviest Replica." But you need to see the dimensional context to understand why this casting process is special.
| Weapon Classification | Length (Size) | Total Weight | Density Factor | Price |
| Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) | 13 cm | 118 g | Brick-like solid core | $19.99 |
| Leviathan Axe (For Context) | 16 cm | 74 g | Lightened for swinging balance | $19.99 |
Let that sink in. Mjolnir is 3 centimeters shorter than Kratos’ axe, yet it weighs a massive 44 grams more.
The "Drop Test" Effect: Why 118g Matters
How is it so heavy? Look at the hand-held scaling shot above.
Unlike an axe or a spear, a hammer’s entire purpose is kinetic impact. When forging this miniature in our high-pressure die-cast molds, we do not hollow out the main block. The 13cm structure is fundamentally a concentrated brick of raw, cold zinc alloy.
If you set a normal desk decoration on top of a stack of important office papers and a breeze hits it, it slides off. If you set our 118g Mjolnir on that stack of papers... you have basically secured them to the earth's crust. As a "desk fidget" item, tossing this hand-to-hand provides the most satisfying, heavy "clunk" of any weapon we sell.
Etching the Madness: Norse Gold and Runes
Mass without art is just a rock. Brok and Sindri originally crafted this weapon, so the detailing has to honor their reputation.
Check the extreme macro view of the hammerhead and hilt detail below.
-
The Relief Engraving: Thor's hammer in God of War: Ragnarök is absolutely covered in Norse mythological storytelling. Our mold features the incredibly complex tree-and-branch runic etchings embedded deeply into the head. The chemical antiquing wash darkens the base, causing the raw silver raised surfaces to shine as if worn by decades of combat.
-
Electroplated Gold Highlights: Take note of the golden beast/serpent design locking the dark leather-textured handle into the hammer block, as well as the intricately gold-dipped pommel ring at the bottom. We run these specific zones through an electroplating bath. This ensures the bright brass/gold sections pop against the dull iron look without rubbing off in your hands over time.
Setting Up Your Aesir Tavern
Thor doesn't neatly organize his weapons; he drinks, he fights, and he drops them wherever he stands. If you’ve read our Gamer Gift Guide , you know this is the ultimate gift for gamers who favor a raw, untamed aesthetic.
Use our custom display stand, or better yet, drop it unceremoniously on a piece of slate stone with a cold drink next to your keyboard. It’s loud, it’s heavy, and it refuses to be ignored.
The God of Thunder is calling.
