What Is the Eclipse Shotel?

The Eclipse Shotel is one of Elden Ring's nine Legendary Armaments — a curved sword waiting on the altar of the Church of the Eclipse at Castle Sol, high in the Mountaintops of the Giants. The blade depicts an eclipsed sun drained of color, and its Death Flare skill ignites it with the Prince of Death's flames, making it one of the only weapons in the game that deals in Death itself. No boss stands in the way; just a long, cold climb.

The Scene: The Church That Prayed for Darkness

We rebuilt that chapel mid-winter for this shoot: snow drifting through broken Gothic arches, pews knocked out of line, and the eclipse banner — the shrouded sun on black — still refusing to fall. A soldier's helm sits half-buried where its owner stopped needing it, and on one pew rests the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, the treasure most Tarnished actually storm this castle for. The shotel itself leans against the altar stone, exactly where the game leaves it. Every frame on this page was shot inside that hand-built set — real miniatures, real snow dust, no CGI, no renders. 19cm in the Real World

A straight 19cm blade sits firmly in banana-for-scale territory; bend it into a near-circle and it suddenly commands more space than the number suggests — your eye measures the crescent, not the ruler. At 91g (3.2 oz) it weighs almost exactly a deck of playing cards, with the pleasant density only small solid castings have. The in-hand photo gives you the honest read.

Straight from the Mold

The in-game blade "depicts an eclipsed sun drained of color," so this mold had one non-negotiable job: the corona. The flame filigree running the outer spine is cast as true openwork — pierced clean through, light passing between the tongues of flame — not surface etching. The floral band at the blade's base carries the same relief, the antiqued two-tone finish (gunmetal crescent, old-gold grip) is applied by hand after casting, and every edge and flame tip leaves the mold blunt.
