The Spear of Cassius is the weapon Mark.06 draws at the end of 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance — a red, double-helix shaft topped with a green-gemmed spearhead, wielded by Kaworu Nagisa. It later stops Eva-01’s transformation into a god-like being during Near Third Impact.

At 22cm (8.7"), the Spear of Cassius is close to the length of a pair of chopsticks laid end to end — just a centimeter shorter. It traces back to the same medieval legend as the Spear of Longinus — tradition credits Patriarch Germanus, around 715 CE, with fixing the name Longinus to the Roman soldier who pierced Christ’s side, a name historians link to the old Cassia family line. The anime splits that legendary name into three spears; Cassius is one, worn by Mark.06.
