How big is 18cm (7.1"), really?

Just shy of a new, unsharpened pencil laid end to end. At 29g (1 oz) it's the lightest piece in this whole collection — the in-hand photo above shows how little it actually takes up in a palm.

Does it actually shoot?

No — it's one solid cast piece; nothing moves, nothing fires. It's a display collectible, not a functional bow, recommended for ages 14+.

Who was this bow originally given to?

In the story, it was a parting gift from the Lady of Light to the finest archer traveling with her guests — offered as they left her golden-wood realm, meant to outmatch the bow he'd carried up to that point. It went on to bring down more than one airborne threat before the story ended.

The bowstring looks thin — is it fragile?

It's cast as part of the solid zinc-alloy body, not a separate strung cord, so there's nothing to snap or go slack over time. That said, like any cast detail this fine, we'd still handle it by the stave rather than gripping the string line directly.
