The Golden Epitaph replica is cast in solid die-cast zinc alloy — 30cm (11.8"), 166g (5.9 oz), free worldwide tracked shipping. Strictly speaking this was never really a sword: it's a grave marker with a grip, made to mourn the first demigod who ever died, carrying a child's prayer that he be allowed to stay properly dead. The whole solemn contradiction was cast, then laid down in a tomb we built by hand.

What Is the Golden Epitaph?

The Golden Epitaph is a Holy-damage straight sword in Elden Ring, made to commemorate Godwyn the Golden — the first of the demigods to die — and infused with a young boy's quiet prayer that his brother be allowed to die a true death. You'll find it in Auriza Hero's Grave, sealed behind an Imp Statue and guarded by a Basilisk.

The Room Behind the Seal

We rebuilt the floor of Auriza's tomb: chains sagging from the ceiling, cracked pillars, cobwebs nobody's cleared since the Shattering, and skeletons slumped along the wall in poses that read less "resting" and more "waiting." There's a brazier burned down to nothing, sacks and clay jars left by people who didn't make it back out, candles stacked in a corner, one sprig of glovewort growing where nothing should grow, and a spoked wheel lying where it stopped — if you've run this dungeon, you know what that's attached to. And behind the sarcophagus, two enormous eyes are watching the Golden Epitaph. Every image on this page is a real photograph of the real piece inside that handcrafted set. No CGI, no renders.

What 30cm Feels Like

The Metalwork

One pour of zinc alloy, one body, then hand-finished. The filigree down the blade, the openwork cage of the guard, and the rayed sunburst with its small skull are shaped into the mold rather than added as separate parts — which is why they still hold up under a macro lens.
