What is Buster Sword R5?

Buster Sword R5 is the Mythic melee cosmetic from the Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth crossover event of January 2024: a looks-only skin that any Legend could equip in place of fists or an heirloom, with no abilities attached. The blade itself is Cloud Strife’s signature sword. Ours is a fan-made tribute to that skin, unofficial and not affiliated with anyone.

How Big Is 21cm, Really?

21cm (8.3") runs a touch longer than a new pencil, which is about 19cm (7.5"). The weight is the surprise: 98g (3.5 oz) of zinc alloy feels denser than the photos let on, closer to a small tool than a prop. The in-hand photo shows how the blade sits across a palm, and the ruler photo has the exact length for anyone who likes receipts.

Cast, Not Cut

Each piece is die-cast in zinc alloy, then hand-finished. The raised gunmetal panels, the round bolt-style details, the stepped notches along one edge and the diamond-shaped studs on the grip are all shaped in the mold, so they catch light with real depth. The palette runs silver cooling to ice-teal toward the tip, with gold on the crossguard and studs. Every edge stays cast blunt, because this one is built for display, not for duty.
