Almost nothing on this rack was simply handed over. Gungnir sits behind an ice wall in a Hordafylke cave until someone shoots it out. The Impaler drops off Sinmara at the close of Dawn of Ragnarok. Poseidon’s trident waits on an unnamed island south of Chios, guarded by something with teeth. Even the broken spear Kassandra carries is Isu metal wearing a Spartan story, and Altaïr’s blade — the eagle-pommel one, spelled with the diaeresis nobody types — is the oldest silhouette in the Brotherhood. Cast in metal at desk scale, the whole rack reads like things somebody had to dig for.

Where to Start

Three ways in. For the shape people recognize before you say a word, the Sword of Altair — eagle pommel, Masyaf era. For the strangest object on the shelf, the Adept Cane Sword, two pieces in one: a gentleman’s walking cane that draws a blade. And for the most story packed into the least metal, the Spear of Leonidas — a snapped-off Isu relic that was already old when it went to Thermopylae.
