What Is the Spear of Longinus?
In medieval Christian tradition, the Roman soldier who pierced the crucified Christ’s side was later named Longinus, and the weapon itself became known as the Holy Lance — a relic prized by emperors and Crusaders alike. The anime borrows only the name for something stranger: a giant, double-helix bident thrown from the Moon by Eva-01, capable of piercing any A.T. Field.
