Swords Designed to Be Unliftable

The running joke of this franchise's art direction is that nobody in the room ever stops to ask whether a human being could carry the thing. The Buster Sword is about as wide as Cloud's torso and roughly as long as he is tall. Most depictions put Masamune well past two metres of blade on a hilt built for one hand. The Fusion Sword deals with the problem by being six separate blades that clamp together, which isn't a solution so much as a flex. Scaled down to a desk, every one of them lands under a hundred grams — the least imposing versions of the most imposing swords in games.

Where to Start

Three doors in. Buster Sword is the obvious one and deserves to be: the proportions only really land once it's a physical object you can turn over. Masamune is the outlier of the whole rack — the longest piece here and also the lightest, which is exactly what a blade that thin ought to do. And Revolver is the gunblade, a form nobody else in this shop has anything like.

Die-cast zinc alloy, hand-finished, with every edge and point cast blunt — display collectibles, recommended for ages 14+. Nothing on this page passes 100 g, and the heaviest piece is barely 1.8 times the lightest. It also runs backwards from what you'd guess — the longest blade here is the lightest one, because a long thin profile carries far less metal than a broad one.
