What is Gungnir?

Gungnir is Odin's spear from Norse myth — forged by the dwarf sons of Ivaldi, and famous less for accuracy than for the fact that nothing can stop its thrust once it's thrown. Valhalla turns it into a mythical-tier spear hidden in a Hordafylke cave. Ours is a fan-art tribute to that version.

Lay it beside a pair of chopsticks and it runs about the same length — 22cm (8.7") point to point. The surprise is the second number: 29g (1.0 oz), roughly five quarters. That's solid zinc alloy on a remarkably slim haft, so it reads precise rather than heavy. The in-hand photos above are the honest check.

The Metalwork

Die-cast zinc alloy, hand-finished. The winged crossguard under the main point is shaped in the mold, with ridges that catch light differently along each wing. Same for the ribbed banding down the grip and the collar at mid-haft. The butt end carries its own smaller point, so the piece reads balanced whichever way you lay it — and both ends stay blunt from the mold.
