Here's the stat that surprises people: the heaviest piece here, the Adept Cane Sword at 138 g (4.9 oz), outweighs the lightest, Black Thorn at 26 g (0.92 oz), by more than 5 to 1 — and Black Thorn is a full-size 22 cm (8.7 in) spear, not some miniature. Weight has almost nothing to do with length in this lineup; it comes down to how solid each casting is.

Swords & Blades: Two Games, Two Very Different Weapons

Sword of Altair is the one that started the whole series: 22 cm (8.7 in) and 83 g (2.9 oz), the personal blade of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad — spelled with the diaeresis in-game, though search boxes everywhere (this page included) just use "Altair." The Adept Cane Sword is a different animal entirely: at 138 g (4.9 oz) it's the heaviest thing in this whole lineup, styled after the concealed cane swords Assassins carried through Victorian London in Syndicate — a walking stick until it very much isn't.

Spears & Polearms: Six Pieces from Three Games

This is the crowded end of the lineup, and the six pieces don't have much in common besides a shaft and a point. Gungnir is Odin's own spear, tied up in AC Valhalla's Isu mythology and the lightest full-length piece here at 29 g (1.0 oz). The Impaler is Valhalla's other long-handled piece — in-game it's classified as an atgeir, a Norse polearm, which is also why it lives on our halberd shelf rather than the spear collection with the rest of this group. Athena's Spear is the heaviest of the six at 44 g (1.6 oz); Black Thorn is the lightest thing in the entire 9-piece lineup at 26 g (0.92 oz). The two Spears of Leonidas get their own section next — same name, two different games, two different sizes.

Two Spears Named Leonidas — What's the Difference?

Both are called "Spear of Leonidas," and both trace back to the same Isu artifact — the broken spear of the Spartan king. That's where the resemblance ends. The Odyssey version is 16 cm (6.3 in) and 37 g (1.3 oz), the shortest piece we carry from this era, tied to Kassandra or Alexios from the opening hours of the game. The Valhalla version is 22 cm (8.7 in) and 27 g (0.95 oz) — longer but noticeably lighter — and shows up much later, through the Isle of Skye content added in the Crossover Stories update, in Eivor's hands. If you're only picking up one, the size difference is the easiest way to tell them apart on a shelf.

The One Trident: Poseidon's, Solo in This Lineup

Poseidon's Trident is the only three-pronged piece we carry from this series — 22 cm (8.7 in) and 35 g (1.2 oz), squarely in the middle of the lineup's weight range, tied to the Greek mythology running through AC Odyssey. It sits on its own trident shelf rather than with the swords or spears, alongside every other multi-pronged piece we've photographed.

Which Assassin's Creed Replica Should You Start With?

For the series' original weapon, Sword of Altair is the obvious pick — 83 g (2.9 oz) of history, starting at $19.99.
