New to the Armory and not sure where to start? Balduran's Giantslayer is the one with the best story attached — named for the man who founded Baldur's Gate, and said in its own item text to be the blade he used to kill the dragon who was his friend. Blood-Bound Blade is the curveball: it has a name, stats, and flavor text like every other weapon on this shelf, but since Patch 8 it hasn't turned up anywhere in normal play. By size. Viconia's Walking Fortress is the outlier at 10cm (3.9in) — barely bigger than a deck of cards. Crimson Mischief sits at 21cm (8.3in), and the other seven pieces all land at 22cm (8.7in) — this is the most size-concentrated shelf in the whole shop.

Nine Weapons, Five Stories from the Sword Coast

Three weapons, one faction. Githyanki Greatsword, Githyanki Longsword, and Silver Sword of the Astral Plane are all githyanki-made. The greatsword is standard issue, decorated and inlaid with rubies; the longsword is the plainer of the two, with no enchantment at all. The Astral Plane sword is the outlier — a legendary piece that rewards githyanki wielders specifically, and worth naming carefully: it's a different weapon from Voss' Silver Sword, a separate item some players mix it up with. We always use its full name for exactly that reason.

The sword that killed a dragon. Balduran's Giantslayer is named for the founder of Baldur's Gate itself, and the weapon's own description credits him with using it to kill Ansur — a dragon who was, by the game's own telling, his friend. Whoever wields it now doubles their strength bonus on a hit and fights giants at an advantage.

A shortsword and a shield, exactly the same weight. Crimson Mischief and Viconia's Walking Fortress land at the same 70g despite one being twice the length of the other. Crimson Mischief belongs to one of the game's most memorably cruel characters and punishes anyone caught at a disadvantage; Viconia's shield does the opposite job, throwing force damage back at whoever just hit you.

Two uncommon blades, two different stories. Everburn Blade is one of the first legendary-feeling weapons most players ever pick up — found early, wreathed in silent flame the moment it's drawn. Sword of Justice arrives later and carries words cast right into its base: Deliverance, Justice, Vengeance.

The blade that isn't really in the game anymore. Blood-Bound Blade has everything a real item needs — a name, stats, even a backstory about the eldritch knight who once carried it. But since Patch 8, it doesn't turn up anywhere in a normal playthrough; seeing it in-game at all means going outside the game as designed. We're not going to pretend it's something you'll stumble across on a save file — that's exactly what makes it worth having as a replica.
