Elven Mage Staff

The staff that's seen more centuries than it lets on. Elven Mage Staff belongs to an elf mage who outlived an entire hero's party and, decades on, is still traveling — this time with two apprentices who have half her experience and none of her patience. Frieren spends the story reckoning with just how differently elves and humans experience time; the crescent-and-gem staff she carries is the one prop that's been with her through all of it. At 17cm (6.7in) and 31g (1.1oz), it's the lightest thing on this list by a wide margin.

Excalibur

A sword with more legend than plot. Excalibur needs no introduction, and that's sort of the problem — the version most people picture, pulled from a stone by a destined king, comes from centuries of accumulated Arthurian legend rather than any single source. Ours is modeled on King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the 2017 film take on the myth, at 22cm (8.7in) and 84g (3.0oz).

Holy Moonlight Sword

The blade that only shows up after you've already lost. Holy Moonlight Sword doesn't sit on a shelf waiting to be picked up — in Bloodborne, it's found on Ludwig's own severed head, deep in an optional nightmare most players never enter, and getting it right requires killing him a very specific way. Ludwig discovered the sword long before the player does, and the blade carries his name for it: a claymore that unfolds into a full greatsword, channeling something the game calls the abyssal cosmos. It's part of a moonlight-bladed lineage that resurfaces across more than one of this studio's games, never quite the same weapon twice. 22cm (8.7in), 70g (2.5oz).

Brass-Hilt Pirate Captain's Cutlass

A sword whose own wiki won't commit to a name. The cutlass we call Brass-Hilt Pirate Captain's Cutlass traces back — according to the most detailed fan-maintained sources on the Pirates of the Caribbean films — to a pirate named Bowen, who gave it to a young Jack Sparrow as tribute after the fall of the Silent Mary. It's the blade he carried through his earliest years on Shipwreck Island, before a merchant captaincy and everything after. Even the wiki that tracks this stuff admits the weapon's actual name is guesswork; we're not going to pretend otherwise. 22cm (8.7in), 96g (3.4oz).

Daywalker Hunter's Black-Hilt Shortsword

A hunter's sword, built for daylight. Daywalker Hunter's Black-Hilt Shortsword belongs to Blade, the half-vampire who hunts the rest of his kind and can walk in sunlight they can't survive. It's a tactical, no-frills blade for a character whose whole premise is the same: no ceremony, just the job. 22cm (8.7in), 77g (2.7oz).

Father's Sword

Two swords, one father, one film. Father's Sword and Atlantean Sword are the only pair on this list that share a story — both from Conan the Barbarian, and both matter more for what they mean than what they cut. Father's Sword is the earlier of the two: the blade taken from Conan's family when his village was destroyed, and its loss is what sets the whole story moving.

Atlantean Sword

Atlantean Sword comes later, pulled from a tomb, and becomes the weapon Conan actually carries for the rest of the story — heavier, broader, double-edged, with its own scabbard in the box. Father's Sword is the lighter piece at 21cm (8.3in) and 58g (2.0oz); Atlantean Sword is the heaviest thing on this entire list at 22cm (8.7in) and 100g (3.5oz).

Trident of Atlan

Not the trident you'd expect from the name. Trident of Atlan is closer to its comic and film canon than the generic "Aquaman's trident" label suggests — it's a specific relic forged from Poseidon steel for Atlan, Atlantis's original king, whose experiments with it are what sank the city in the first place. Arthur Curry doesn't inherit it; he has to prove himself worthy of it to a sea guardian before he can even touch it. At 29cm (11.4in), it's the longest piece on this list — and the only trident.

Yamato

The sword that only separates. Yamato belongs to Vergil, and it exists because his father split his own power into three blades rather than one. Its sibling, Rebellion, fuses human and demon halves back together; Yamato does the opposite, and Vergil uses it to cut space itself — the signature move draws and sheathes the blade so fast it looks like it never left the scabbard, while the cut still lands. Devil May Cry gave this katana a second, undersold blade in the same small vault, but Yamato is the one people ask for by name. 22cm (8.7in), 75g (2.6oz).

Wyvern Blade Blood

A weapon that's genuinely in the game, not just inspired by it. Wyvern Blade Blood isn't a fan invention layered onto Monster Hunter — it's a real, specifically-tiered long sword, forged from the parts of the flying wyvern Rathalos, that's been recast in near-identical form across five mainline entries. The color says exactly what it's made from: red, because the monster was red. At 81g (2.9oz), it's the heaviest blade-type weapon here relative to its 22cm (8.7in) length — the guard alone carries real weight instead of reading as a thin metal sliver.

Most of these are the only weapon we've made from their story; a couple have exactly one sibling piece tucked into a small, two-item collection. Are Father's Sword and Atlantean Sword really both from the same movie?

Yes — they're the only pair on this list that share a story, pulled from the same 1982 sword-and-sorcery film. Father's Sword is the blade lost early on, and Atlantean Sword is the one its hero actually carries for most of what follows.
