Christmas Gifts for Gamers: Which Metal Weapon to Pick
The safest metal weapon gift for a gamer is a die-cast zinc alloy desk piece from a world they already love, sized for the shelf or desk they actually have.

Here's the part nobody tells you when you start reading our spec sheets: length and weight don't move together. A 12 cm shield sits heavier in the hand than a 30 cm sword. So instead of ranking swords against axes, we sort by three things you already know: who's getting it, what you want to spend, and how much desk they have.

Who are you buying for?
Five kinds of gamer cover most gift lists. Each one gets a main pick and a backup, and every piece below is cast in solid zinc alloy.
The adventurer who finishes every side quest
Start with the Master Sword. It's 28 cm (11 in) and 183 g (6.5 oz) by the listed weight, and 28 cm is almost exactly the long side of a sheet of letter paper (27.9 cm). We built a forest shrine for its photo shoot, moss and all. If they'd rather have defense, the Hylian Shield is 12 cm (4.7 in) and 177 g (6.2 oz): about the height of a soda can, with the heft of a paperweight.

The fantasy-epic rewatcher
Go with the Reforged King's Sword. It's 30 cm (11.8 in), nearly the length of a 12-inch ruler (30.5 cm), yet only 104 g (3.7 oz). We shot it in a hall of white stone, with carved angels keeping watch, that we built for it. The backup is Orcrist: 21 cm (8.3 in), 93 g (3.3 oz), the curved, single-edged one, photographed in a coal-black treasure hoard we built.
More blades live in The Fellowship Blade Vault.
The anime-katana fan
Enma is a 24 cm (9.4 in), 73 g (2.6 oz) katana in a purple scabbard with gold trim. Its backup, Sandai Kitetsu, has the same 24 cm length and a red-lacquer scabbard with gold banding. The difference is in the hand: Sandai Kitetsu's listed weight is 89 g (3.1 oz), 16 g more than Enma. Pick by color; both fit the same shelf.
The full rack is in The Grand Line Katana Vault.
The one who plays for snow and myth
The Scrollwork War Axe is 16 cm (6.3 in) and 76 g (2.7 oz): lay a dollar bill flat and you've got its length. We built a snow-buried pine forest for it, complete with a stone carrying a gold handprint. For a bigger statement, the Gold-Ringed War Spear is 35 cm (13.8 in) and 116 g (4.1 oz), longer than a 12-inch ruler and the tallest piece in this guide.
Everything else from this line is in The Nine Realms Armory.
The one who's still talking about Black Myth: Wukong
The Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff is a 22 cm (8.7 in), 68 g (2.4 oz) rod with gold-toned carved end caps and collars on a dark, relief-textured shaft. Its backup, the Loongwreathe Staff, is the same 22 cm and 49 g (1.7 oz), with gold-toned dragons coiled at both ends. At 22 cm each runs a hair longer than the short side of a letter sheet (21.6 cm). Both are fan-made tributes to staffs you craft in the game.
The rest of the shelf is The Monkey King's Armory.
Why doesn't weight match length?
It surprised us too. We pulled the listed spec for every piece above, and the numbers don't line up the way you'd guess:
| Piece | Length | Listed weight |
|---|---|---|
| Master Sword | 28 cm (11 in) | 183 g (6.5 oz) |
| Hylian Shield | 12 cm (4.7 in) | 177 g (6.2 oz) |
| Gold-Ringed War Spear | 35 cm (13.8 in) | 116 g (4.1 oz) |
| Reforged King's Sword | 30 cm (11.8 in) | 104 g (3.7 oz) |
| Orcrist | 21 cm (8.3 in) | 93 g (3.3 oz) |
| Sandai Kitetsu | 24 cm (9.4 in) | 89 g (3.1 oz) |
| Scrollwork War Axe | 16 cm (6.3 in) | 76 g (2.7 oz) |
| Enma | 24 cm (9.4 in) | 73 g (2.6 oz) |
| Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff | 22 cm (8.7 in) | 68 g (2.4 oz) |
| Loongwreathe Staff | 22 cm (8.7 in) | 49 g (1.7 oz) |
The heaviest piece in this guide, the Master Sword, is not the longest. The shield, at 12 cm, outweighs the 30 cm sword by 73 g (2.6 oz). The practical read: length tells you how much desk a piece takes up, and weight tells you how it feels when someone picks it up. If your gamer likes to fidget with things, steer toward the dense ones.
How much should you spend?
The picks in this guide come in two price tiers: from $19.99 and from $29.99, before any stand. Both tiers are the same material, die-cast zinc alloy, so the gap is about the piece, not the quality of the metal.
The stand is the real choice. Small is +$2, Large is +$3 and Vertical is +$4 on most pieces (a few styles differ, so check the product page). A stand is what turns the piece from something in a box into something on a shelf, and for a gift that's often the part the recipient notices first. Not every piece offers every stand (the Gold-Ringed War Spear, for one, has Small and Large only), so look at the product photos before you pick.
Don't know what they play? Choose by desk, not by fandom, and see the next section. A plain, generic-looking blade like the Royal Broadsword works for almost anyone.
How much desk do they have?
Match the piece to the space, then to the person.

The Honest Corner
These are 12–35 cm display collectibles, not props. Edges are cast blunt, and they're recommended for ages 14+. Don't buy one if the person wants something to swing, cosplay with or take to a convention floor: it will sit on a shelf and look great, and that's all it does. They're also fan-made and unofficial — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any game, anime, or film company. Weights above are the listed weights on each product page.
FAQ
Can I give one to someone under 14?
We recommend these for ages 14+. They're display collectibles with cast-blunt edges, not toys, so for younger kids we'd pick something else.
Is this officially licensed?
No. Fan-made and unofficial — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any game, anime, or film company.
How do I choose the right size?
Choose by the space first: 12–16 cm for a monitor shelf, 21–25 cm for a regular shelf, 28 cm and up for a centerpiece. Then check the weight in the table above if the person likes to hold things.
Is a stand worth adding?
Usually, yes. A stand costs from +$2 and means the piece is ready to display the moment it's unwrapped. If the recipient already has a shelf with a way to prop things, you can skip it.
